Start with evidence.
- Download the ZIP and choose Extract All on your Windows PC.
- Open the BAT in a text editor to review it, then right-click it and select Run as administrator.
- Press J to export diagnostics before attempting repairs. The report folder opens in Explorer.
- Use the report and crash history to decide which diagnostic or repair step fits the problem.

What each letter does
| Key | Option | Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| A | Recent system errors | Diagnostic · Displays recent critical/error System events. |
| B / C | Event Viewer / Reliability Monitor | Diagnostic · Opens the selected Windows utility. |
| D | System File Checker | Repair · Prompts before running sfc /scannow. |
| E | DISM, then SFC | Repair · Prompts before repairing the component store. Runs SFC if DISM succeeds; may require internet. |
| F | Windows Memory Diagnostic | Diagnostic · Opens a dialog that can schedule a restart. Save work first. |
| G | Online Windows-volume scan | Disk scan · Prompts before CHKDSK /scan on the Windows volume; requires NTFS. No forced dismount or automatic reboot. |
| H | Driver Verifier tools | Advanced · View status, confirm a reset, or open its manager. Does not automatically enable verification. |
| I | System information | Diagnostic · Displays Windows system information. |
| J | Export diagnostic report | Collect evidence · Saves reports and System.evtx locally, then opens the folder. |
| K | Crash and shutdown events | Diagnostic · Displays recent related System events. A shutdown event alone does not establish a cause. |
| L | Exit | Closes the toolkit. |
Pair it with EventSage
Option J exports System.evtx. Download and run EventSage ↗ on your PC to analyze it. Large exports may need to be reduced to fit local memory limits.
Reports are saved under %PUBLIC%\Documents\Jays_TechBench_BSOD in a timestamped folder. They can include usernames, hostnames, paths, device details, and event data. Review reports before sharing.
Crash dumps are listed, not copied or analyzed. Use WinDbg locally and load its !analyze -v text into EventSage Local when needed.
Static review completed · Windows execution testing not performed in this publishing session · This toolkit cannot guarantee a fix for every BSOD.
